The Sony Ericsson K800i is one of the more recent additions to the list of handsets which are available with free line rental.
When I say more recent, I mean it has recently been made available with free line rental, as, the handset itself is an older model released in 2006. This phone has a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, xenon flash and video record, which is adequate, but, compared to later models is starting to show its age!
Of course the K800i is 3G enabled allowing fast internet access, however, these days you are probably getting a Mobile Broadband USB dongle if you are planning on hooking your laptop up to the internet.
The K800i also has an inbuilt stereo FM radio, MP3/MPEG4 player, Bluetooth, a web browser, 3D games, video player, built in hands free and an organiser.
The K800i typifies the trade off you have to accept when you take out a free line rental deal. This is a perfectly good handset, and will do more than 95% of customers will ever require it to, but, cutting edge it is not. If your friends have an N95 then they are not going to be impressed by a K800i, but, if your friends are impressed by a smart deal as opposed to the latest features, then you may be able to redeem yourself!
As we have said before, free line rental deals are a trade off, you have to take an older model in return for the cash back option the free line rental element is dependent upon.
The best bargains are always offered on the older handsets, and, as older handsets go, the K800i is hard to beat. It is a great phone with a good reputation, do not write if off just yet!
