I have recently received a couple of enquiries from people interested in free line rental deals, but unhappy with the way the cash-back operates on them.
Specifically they are looking for a free line rental deal with instant cash back, or one that is completely cost free from day one.
Sorry guys but this is never going to happen!
These companies are in business to make money, not distribute free hardware / phone contracts!
The whole point about a free line rental deal is that you have to follow the small print and ensure you make a successful claim. The name of the game for the retailer is to make the deal look as attractive as possible, while still giving themselves scope to make a profit.
In the case of a FLR deal, the only place that “scope” can come from is from users failing to make a successful claim.
Remember, a mobile phone retailer will lose money if you make a successful claim as they have to refund 100% of the cost of the contract, which will be a greater sum than their commission for the original sale of the contract.
Think about it… how do these companies make money, and, what would happen if they just started giving the things away?
