BlackBerry have an outstanding reputation when it comes to smart phones and communication devices. There latest addition to the family, the BlackBerry Bold 9000 runs the new BlackBerry 4.6 operating system on a powerful 624 MHz processor.
As can be expected from BlackBerry the phone has Bluetooth, 2 megapixel camera, media player, web browser, media player with DivX support, a Qwerty keyboard, trackball mouse and a 3.5mm stereo audio socket.
In terms of data transfer the BlackBerry 9000 Bold suports Wi-fi, 3G, tri-band HSDPA and quad-band GSM.
The BlackBerry Bold has 1GB of internal memory (upgradeable to 8GB) for storing files music and video.
The 9000 bold also boasts integrated GPS satellite navigation with pre-installed “BlackBerry maps”.
Important: The BlackBerry Bold is now a very old model and will soon be discontinued. The BlackBerry Bold 9700 is probably the best deal at the moment, which features an optical trackpad as one of its many improvements. The BlackBerry Bold 9780 is the current model (at time of editing) and is also worth a look. On top of that the BlackBerry Curve has also undergone an overhaul with the release of the BlackBerry Curve 3G, so, you have a lot of options besides this older model.
That said, the Bold 9000 still does its job and you may be able to grab a bargain as the last stocks are cleared. Currently the BlackBerry Bold 9000 is available from just £10 per month (effective price after discounts) less than half the price it was a year or so back:
